Adds **Pay with USDC or USDT** to the Easy Digital Downloads checkout. The customer pays on the Mintage Pay payment
page and the order completes by itself when the payment is final.

Tested on 5 October 2026 with WordPress 7.1 and Easy Digital Downloads 3.7 against the sandbox: connect, checkout,
payment, order completed without the customer returning to the store, and removal.

## What you need

- WordPress 6.4 or later, PHP 7.4 or later.
- Easy Digital Downloads 3.0 or later. Version 2 is not supported.
- A store currency Mintage Pay supports (**Downloads > Settings > General > Currency**): USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, CHF,
JPY, MXN, BRL, INR, SGD, AED, PLN, SEK, NOK, DKK, NZD, ZAR, TRY, KRW, HKD, NGN, ARS, PHP, IDR, VND, PKR, EGP, BDT, KES, GHS, TZS, COP, CLP, PEN, UYU, PYG, BOB, DOP, GTQ, CRC, THB, MYR, TWD, LKR, NPR, KZT, UAH, ILS, SAR, QAR, CZK, HUF, RON, ISK, XAF or XOF. Your customers always pay in US dollar
stablecoins: a price in another currency is converted when they check out, and the payment page shows both amounts.
- Your site on **https**, reachable from the internet. Mintage Pay tells your store about payments by calling
`https://your-site/wp-json/mintagepay-edd/v1/webhook`. Security plugins, firewalls and password protection must
  let that address through.
- A Mintage Pay account with at least one payout address set.

## Install

1. Download [mintage-pay-edd.zip](https://app.mintagepay.com/downloads/mintage-pay-edd.zip).
2. In WordPress, go to **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin**, choose the zip, click **Install Now**, then **Activate**.
3. In the Mintage Pay dashboard, open **Developers > API keys** and create a key. Copy it: it is shown only once.
4. In WordPress, go to **Downloads > Settings > Payments > Mintage Pay**. Paste the key and click **Save Changes**.
The page says **API key verified for (your business name). Webhook connected.**
5. Go to **Downloads > Settings > Payments > General**. Under **Active Gateways**, tick **Mintage Pay** and save.

Leave **API base URL** empty. The key decides where the plugin connects.

If a warning appears at the top of the WordPress admin, it names the problem: the currency is not supported, the key
could not be checked, or the webhook is not connected.

## Try it first with test money

1. Create a free account at [sandbox.mintagepay.com](https://sandbox.mintagepay.com), set a payout address and
   create a key there.
2. Paste the sandbox key in the plugin settings and save.
3. In a private browser window, add a product to the cart and choose **Pay with USDC or USDT**. You land on a payment
page with a **Test mode** banner. In **Downloads > Orders** the order is **Pending**.
4. Pay on the payment page with free test money. The page has a button to get some.
5. Within a minute or two the order is **Completed**, with a note giving the amount, the network and a link to the
   transaction.
6. When you are happy, paste your live key and save.

## Order statuses

| What happened | Order status |
|---|---|
| Customer sent to pay | Pending |
| Paid in full | Completed. The receipt is sent and the downloads are released |
| Paid, but the amount does not match the order | On Hold, with a note. Check before you deliver |
| Part paid | On Hold, with a note saying how much is still owed |
| Payment window closed with part paid | On Hold. Refund the customer or collect the rest |
| Payment window closed with nothing paid | Abandoned |
| Paid after the order was abandoned | On Hold. Check before you deliver |
| Full refund recorded in Mintage Pay | Refunded |
| Part refund recorded in Mintage Pay | A note on the order |

## If something is wrong

- **"Not connected" next to Webhook:** click **Reconnect webhook**. Do the same after moving the site to a new
address. If it still fails, check that the site works over https and that nothing blocks `/wp-json/`.
- **An order did not update:** open it and click **Refresh from Mintage Pay** in the Mintage Pay box.
- **More detail:** tick **Debug log** in the plugin settings and look in **Downloads > Tools > Debug Log**. Your key
and webhook secret are never written to the log.

## Remove the plugin

1. **Plugins > Mintage Pay for Easy Digital Downloads > Deactivate.** This switches off your store's connection at
   Mintage Pay.
2. Click **Delete** to remove the plugin and its settings.

Your orders keep their history and notes.
