Shopify

Shopify only lets its approved payment partners add a payment method inside the checkout. So on Shopify, Mintage Pay works as order first, then pay: the customer places the order with a manual payment method named "Pay with USDC/USDT (Mintage Pay)", the Thank you page shows Complete payment, and that button opens the Mintage Pay payment page. When the payment is final, the order is tagged and you are told.

There is nothing to download. Each store gets its own small Shopify app, which we create and connect with you. To start, write to hello@mintagepay.com with your store's address (yourstore.myshopify.com).

Tested on 3 October 2026 on a Shopify development store, against the sandbox: install, a real storefront order placed with the manual method, the payment button on the Thank you and Order status pages, payment, the order tagged, and the emails to the customer and the store. A store priced in another currency, a cancelled order and an expired payment have not been run on a real store yet.

What you need

Connect your store

  1. We create the app for your store and send you an install link. Open it and approve the install. The app asks to read and change orders, nothing else. Your store now appears in your Mintage Pay dashboard under Store connections.
  2. In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments > Manual payment methods and choose Create custom payment method.
    • Name: Pay with USDC/USDT (Mintage Pay). The name must contain the word "Mintage Pay": that is how your orders are recognised.
    • Payment instructions: "After placing your order, click Complete payment on the next page or in your confirmation email."
  3. Open the checkout editor (Settings > Checkout > Customize) and add the block Mintage Pay payment button to the Thank you page and to the Order status page.
  4. Place a small test order with the new payment method. Click Complete payment, pay, and check that the order gets the tag mintagepay-paid.

Try it first with test money

Ask us for a sandbox connection. Your store's app is then linked to a free account at sandbox.mintagepay.com, the payment page shows a Test mode banner, and you pay with free test money. The page has a button to get some. When you are happy, we link the store to your live account.

What you will see

What happened In Shopify
Order placed with the Mintage Pay method Order with payment pending
Customer on the Thank you page A Complete your payment banner with the button
Customer comes back later The Order status page has a line "Paid with USDC/USDT? Complete your payment here"
Paid in full The order gets the tag mintagepay-paid. You get an email with a link to mark it paid
Button clicked on an order that is already paid A short page saying "Already paid". No second payment is taken
Payment window closed with nothing paid The order stays open. The customer can start a new payment from the Order status page

By default Mintage Pay does not mark the order as paid in Shopify for you. Shopify asks apps not to record payments made outside its checkout without its written approval. So the order is tagged, and the email you get has a one-click link to mark it paid yourself. Filter your orders by the tag mintagepay-paid to see which ones to fulfil.

Mintage Pay never holds your money, so it cannot send a refund for you. Send the refund from your own wallet and record it in the Mintage Pay dashboard.

If something is wrong

Disconnect

Uninstall the app under Settings > Apps and sales channels in Shopify admin. The store is disconnected from Mintage Pay and its access is deleted. Then remove the manual payment method and the two payment button blocks.
