One at a time.

Mintage Pay vs BitPay

Fees with a 25¢ charge per payment, daily settlement, and new merchants paused outside the US and Canada.

Mintage Pay vs NOWPayments

Hundreds of coins, 1.0% or 1.5%, and terms that exclude the EU, the UK and the US.

Mintage Pay vs CoinGate

Euro payouts, payout fees on top of 1%, and no US merchants.

Coinbase Business vs Coinbase Commerce

What changed when Commerce closed, and the self-custodial option outside the US and Singapore.

How to choose

Start with where your business is: two of these do not onboard US businesses, one does not serve the EU or the UK, and Coinbase Business is for the US and Singapore only.

Then decide who should hold the money. Most gateways keep payments in an account until they settle or you withdraw. Mintage Pay pays each order straight to your own wallet.

Count the whole fee

Compare the total, not the headline rate: a fixed charge per payment and payout or withdrawal fees add up, especially on small orders.

On a $20 order: BitPay's first tier is $0.65 (2% + 25¢), NOWPayments $0.20 or $0.30, CoinGate $0.20 plus payout fees, Mintage Pay $0.20.

Questions merchants ask when choosing.

Which crypto payment gateway has the lowest fees?

On a typical stablecoin payment: Mintage Pay 1% flat; CoinGate 1% plus 0.50 EUR + 0.5% on each crypto payout; NOWPayments 1.0%, or 1.5% with conversion; Coinbase Business 1% for merchants moving from Commerce; BitPay 2% + 25¢ below $500,000 a month.

Which gateways do not hold my money?

Mintage Pay sends every payment straight to your own wallet. BitPay settles to you daily, CoinGate keeps a balance until you withdraw, Coinbase Business is custodial, and NOWPayments offers a custody balance with payouts to your wallet.

Which ones accept US businesses?

BitPay (US and Canada), Coinbase Business (US and Singapore) and Mintage Pay (the US and most other countries). CoinGate's merchant list does not include the US, and NOWPayments' terms exclude US residents and citizens.

Which ones accept businesses in Europe or the UK?

CoinGate (60 countries, including the UK and most of the EU) and Mintage Pay. BitPay has paused new merchants in the EEA and the UK, NOWPayments' terms exclude the EU and the UK, and Coinbase Business is US and Singapore only.
